The Midmar Mile (www.midmarmile.co.za) is a swimming race held annually in February at the Midmar Dam north of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Pre-Covid approximately 17,000 swimmers descended from all over the world on Midmar Dam to swim the largest outdoor race there is.
Over the last 20+ years I have swum the Midmar Mile a total of 35 times sometimes once on the designated weekend, mostly twice and occasionally three times.
In almost one month from now on Saturday and Sunday February 12th and 13th I will be swimming the Midmar Mile again, for my 36th and 37th times in memory of Dr Arthi Ramkissoon my friend from school.
I will be raising funds for scholarships for students to Waterford Kamhlaba www.waterford.sz, my Alma Mata, which is very close to my heart.
Would you be willing to sponsor me?
Your contribution will be administered by Waterford Kamhlaba Foundation of South Africa, in partnership with the Advancement Office of the school. WKFSA is Chaired by Sandile Hlophe, also an alumnus of the school. The Director of the Advancement Office at the school is Lizz Mhangami.
